Kevin McCarthy Fails to Secure Speaker of the House Votes. Republicans Look Like Sloppy Winners ***Face palm***
Reps are voting for everybody and their mama it seems...
Kevin McCarthy doesn't seem like a bad guy, but he is a politician that has political ambitions... which may be the problem in Washington. Right now he has lost 5 rounds of voting to become the next Speaker of the House and one has to wonder why. The Republican party, despite winning control of the house back in November, is appearing sloppy and running around like free ranged headless chickens with different agendas. You have your Trump camps and your DeSantis camps. You have your establishment Republicans against the equivalent of progressive Democrat-Republicans like your MTG, and Matt Gaetz. It truly is an unattractive clown show and it is, unfortunately making the Republican party undesirable. Republicans look like that guy wide open, with no coverage, and still manages the fumble the ball.
It may sound odd to say that people with no political ambition should run for leading office, so let me explain...
Donald Trump stated while just a regular citizen that he didn't want to become President. Even at the height of his career, he seemed to be focused on building his legacy and brand. The fact that he didn't want the position up until the last decade says that he jumped in because he saw the nation going in the wrong direction.
NO! Trump should not run again. I'm just making a point. He didn't seem propped up to the people, like Obama. Let's be real, Obama was handpicked and propped up to the people during a financial/housing crisis, so there is a difference between the rise of the two.
McCarthy doesn't seem propped up, but I notice that average Republicans are not sold on him. The problem with most people in Washington is that they are in it for the glory and relevance, not the people or this nation's preservation... and they actually come off that way boldly. Not saying this is McCarthy 100%, but he does give off gaslighting vibes at times, and at this point, Americans are tired of that.
Every time Wall Street Nancy Pelosi hit the podium for briefs in the back of my mind all I could here is Big Sean's song "IDFU", that’s how much I feel she despises the average and below American people. Democrats jump to praise her for her loyalty to the party, not the American people.
It will be interesting to see how this Speaker of the House saga plays out. It looks sad for McCarthy and weird the rest of the way. Boy, Republicans are divided. They should have already picked the least likely to be a glory whore, Jim Jordan, as many have suggested. It only made sense. I hear Chip Roy threw in Byron Donaldson as an option for Speaker. The lack of coordination among Republicans is astonishing. They have no strategy, hence why they look weak and barely flex on the DEMS. Remember, their hyped red-micro drop was due to a lack of coordination. Being an independent thinker doesn’t mean that you can’t strategically coordinate. As for RHINO Republicans, what portion of the Republican base keeps voting for them? Also, term limits happen when you vote people out.
P.S. Grammarly is useless. I’ll catch something after publishing then all the red lines that never showed as I was writing pop up. UGH.
Swamp Creatures are ONLY concerned about themselves and their own re-elections. They have no real interest in We The People, unless by supporting a particular issue they can squeeze something in it for themselves. Look no further than all the PORK that gets added to Bills to appease different political factions for their support of a Bill. If this wasn't so ... Why do so many people in Congress on a pay of $174K/year eventually leave Washington with Millions??? We are being Fleeced and have been Fleeced for years. Eventually the dam will break and things will change. May be sooner than we all think(?)
I don't think McCarthy is a bad guy, but the reason he is not already speaker and has not been elected, is that people do not think he will actually fight for them when the chips are down. The time for nice people who raise funds then give the other side everything they want, is over.
They've already lost the first year by letting the omnibus bill pass. They gave up the power of the purse, and Pelosi for all intents and purposes, remains in power until next year's budget.
McCarthy needs to convince people he's a fighter or he doesn't need the gavel.
